Am I the only one who chose to re-grout the old tile in my Nob Hill bathroom instead of replacing it?

After three weekends of careful work with a Dremel tool and some sanded grout, the 1950s tile looks brand new and I saved over two grand, but now I'm noticing a few hairline cracks in the original plaster behind it... anyone else have this happen and what did you do?

Did you check if the cracks are just in the paint layer? I had that happen and a thin coat of plaster patch smoothed it right out before I repainted.
