Bought a $40 gutter guard kit and it saved my foundation
I put it off for years, but after the last big rain I saw water pooling right by the house. The kit was cheap and took an afternoon to install on the front gutter. It stopped the main clog from leaves off my cottonwood. Now the downspout actually sends water away from the slab. Has anyone else had good luck with a specific brand for our sandy soil?

That cottonwood leaf clog is the worst, glad a cheap fix worked for you.

Actually it was maple seeds, not cottonwood. Those little helicopter things get everywhere.

Oh man, tell me about it. Last spring my gutters were packed solid with those maple seeds. They made a perfect dam that caught every bit of pine needle and leaf trash. I had water pouring over the sides in a light rain. Ended up scooping out what felt like five pounds of wet, slimy helicopters by hand.
