Hit 100 water heater flushes and finally saw the payoff

I keep a log of all my home maintenance stuff, and last week I hit the 100th flush on my water heater in Rio Rancho. I do it every 6 months like clockwork, and this time the water ran clear after only 2 minutes instead of the usual 10 minutes of brown sludge. It made me wonder if all that buildup over the years was costing me in energy bills. Has anyone else noticed a big difference after sticking with a routine for a while?

My neighbor flushes his every 10 years and his electric bill is higher than mine, so you're probably onto something.
