Honestly, I think everyone's wrong about painting over old stucco
Tbh, my house near UNM looked way worse after a fresh coat last spring because the contractor didn't fix the hairline cracks first. Now I've got these weird dark lines showing through after just one winter. Anyone else have this happen and know a good fix?

It can be a huge deal, @henry604, depending on what it is. Gray6 has a point. If it's about a car, it's just cosmetic stress. But if those dark lines are a metaphor, man, that hits different. One rough season can leave a real mark that isn't easy to buff out. It's not something to just brush off.
