I paid a guy $85 to tell me my swamp cooler was "fine" and it flooded my hallway two days later

He checked the pads, said the pump was good, took my check, and left. Next thing I know there's water soaking the carpet in Albuquerque. Has anyone got a swamp cooler guy who actually checks the drain line, or is that asking too much?
