Leaky hose bib near the foundation took 3 weekends to fix

Found water pooling by the slab in March, thought it was sprinkler runoff. Turned out the hose bib pipe had cracked underground, and I dug 4 feet before spotting it. Replaced it with a brass valve and copper stub, then patched the stucco. Has anyone else had a hidden leak like this that ate up a whole month?

Used to think any leak near the house was just bad luck with sprinklers, but now I'm convinced it's always something worse hiding underground. Your story actually made me second-guess my own setup. Three weekends is rough, but at least you found it before it got to the slab.

Check your water bill every month, that's how I caught mine before it wrecked the foundation.
