Holy crap, 15 years?! That's wild. I swear most water heaters these days are lucky to get past the 8-10 year mark without springing a leak or doing something dramatic. You must have gotten one built on a Tuesday or something, lol. My last one crapped out right after the warranty ended at year 6, I was so mad. You definitely got your money's worth out of that thing.

Did you have hard or soft water where you live? I keep hearing that makes a MASSIVE difference in how long they last.
