My neighbor in the North Valley told me his old swamp cooler saved him $200 this summer

We were talking about the heat last week and he said he only runs his central AC after 5 PM. He keeps the swamp cooler going all day to pull in the cool morning air. I always thought those old units were just a backup, but his power bill is way lower than mine. Has anyone else made this switch work in a newer house?

Nah, I see it different. Place stays pretty dry even late in the day. Maybe your windows are sealed tighter than mine.
