My old swamp cooler finally gave out during that 95 degree week in July.
Got a new unit from a shop on Central and installed it myself over the weekend, saved about $800 on labor. Anyone know a good place to buy replacement pads in bulk?

Wow, saving that much is tempting but that's a huge risk. A bad install can wreck your roof and cause water damage that costs way more than $800. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for.

Man I saw a whole news story about this last year. They interviewed a guy who hired the cheapest crew he could find. They used the wrong nails and didn't seal anything right. His attic was full of mold six months later. Cost him over fifteen grand to fix the water damage alone. That "deal" ruined his house.
