Question about the new city water pressure in the Northeast Heights

My pressure regulator failed last month because the incoming pressure from the main spiked to over 100 psi, which my plumber said is happening a lot now. Has anyone else had to replace theirs recently?

Actually heard it's the opposite, pressure's been dropping in a lot of neighborhoods. My guy said they're working on the lines and it's causing low pressure issues instead.

Hold up, that doesn't match what I'm seeing at all. My whole block has had crazy high pressure for days, to the point where my shower is basically a fire hose. Maybe the work on the lines is making things worse in some spots but way better in others. I gotta disagree with your guy, reese_lopez49, because the city's own alert said they're boosting pressure to fix old zones and it's causing spikes. Could it be that your neighborhood is just on a different part of the system?

Ugh, that sounds miserable, my shower would probably take my skin off.
