Talked to an old plumber at Lowe's and now I'm checking all my pipes

I was in the plumbing aisle looking for a shower head and this older guy starts telling me about polybutylene pipes. Said he's pulled them out of fifty houses in the South Valley alone. He mentioned they were popular in the 90s and they're basically ticking time bombs. Now I'm going home to check my crawlspace because my house was built in '94. Has anybody else had to deal with replacing these things?

Call @the_margareth and tell her those pipes lasted 30 years for plenty of people who never touched them.

Those polybutylene pipes had me convinced my water heater was the only thing I'd ever need to worry about.
