Drip line baffled me for 2 summers until the nursery guy said one thing

I ran my drip system on a timer every morning for two years and my roses kept dying, then the guy at Osuna Nursery pointed out I was watering at 9am in August and the water was evaporating before it soaked in. Switched to 5am starts last month and the difference is unreal, has anyone else had a basic timing fix save their whole yard?
