Showerthought: I laughed at my neighbor for getting a $450 whole house water filter, then I saw my shower head
I told him our ABQ water was fine for 11 years until the aerator on my kitchen faucet clogged solid with white crust last April. Pulled it apart and the screen looked like it was dipped in chalk, and my ice maker had been limping along the whole time. Anyone else up here in the heights dealing with this, or is it worse on well water out in the east mountains?

Screen looked like it was dipped in chalk" is putting it nicely, mine crunched when I touched it. I spent years mocking people for fancy filters while my ice maker was slowly dying and I just thought it was a bad fridge. Now I'm the guy in the neighborhood preaching about water softeners like it's a religion.
