Can we talk about the guy who took a work call in the bathroom stall next to me?
I was at a coffee shop downtown on Tuesday trying to get some quiet time to pay bills, and this guy walks into the single bathroom, takes a 12 minute phone call on speaker, then flushes and walks out. I could hear his boss chewing him out about a missed deadline through the door. The whole thing made me realize nobody has any boundaries anymore. It took me 20 minutes just to get my brain back after that, and I still forgot to pay my electric bill. Has anyone else run into people treating public bathrooms like their personal office?

Man, I’ve done that exact thing before and it’s humbling when you hear your own voice bouncing off the tile like that. I hung up so fast I almost dropped my phone in the sink trying to act normal. At least you got a story out of it, I just got a weird look from the guy washing his hands.

Oh man, I used to be the person who thought it was no big deal to take quick calls anywhere, but this totally changed my mind. I remember sitting in a Target bathroom once, trying to handle a quick issue with my bank, and I had no idea how loud I was being until someone cleared their throat in the stall next to me. Honestly, that bathroom echo makes everything sound like you're using a megaphone, and it's so disrespectful to everyone else who just wants five minutes of peace. People really need to start acting like bathrooms are for one thing only.
