Hot take: I just found out my car's 'lifetime transmission fluid' means the lifetime of the warranty, not the car
I was scrolling through the owner's manual for my 2019 Honda Civic last night and saw that little phrase. I always thought it meant the fluid would last as long as the engine did. But a mechanic buddy told me that's a trick to make you buy a new car sooner. He said I should've changed it at 60k miles, and now I'm at 85k. Has anyone else fallen for this?

Actually saw some article about how those aftermarket parts can mess with the car's sensors and cause issues down the road. Definitely not worth saving a few bucks if it voids the warranty or causes problems later. Smart move getting it changed back honestly.
