I finally told my boss in Denver that the 9pm Slack messages were making me dread Mondays
She said she only sent them because she works late and doesn't expect answers, which honestly made it worse because now I feel bad for being annoyed. Does anyone else's team have this weird thing where 'no pressure' actually means more pressure?
The "I don't expect an answer" thing is the worst part because now the ball's in your court either way. What worked for me was just muting notifications after 6 and telling my team I check in the morning, no apology attached. If she really doesn't expect answers, she won't mind, and if she does, well, now you know.
