I spent $400 on a 'professional' mattress topper and now my back hurts worse than before

...and that's what I get for trusting a review that said it was "like sleeping on a cloud" or whatever. Honestly, I think those mattress topper companies are all just putting fancy foam in a box and hoping nobody notices. I bought a cheap one from Target for like $60 a few years ago and it was fine until my dog decided to use it as a chew toy. Now I'm sleeping on a flat couch cushion until I figure out what to do.

@martin.paige Those cloud reviews got me too, but my $30 Amazon one is going on year three now.
