I thought $40 for a budgeting app was a waste, but it found $312 in subscriptions I forgot about
I always rolled my eyes at people who paid for budgeting apps. I figured a free spreadsheet worked fine for tracking my bills. But after overdrafting my checking account twice in one week back in March, I got desperate and tried a $40 a year app called Copilot. It linked to my bank and showed me every recurring charge. Turns out I was paying for three streaming services I never watched and a gym membership in Portland I hadn't stepped foot in since 2022. That came out to $312 a year just gone. I canceled them in about ten minutes and felt like I got a raise. Has anyone else found surprise charges they forgot about after connecting their accounts?
