Just realized my 'grown up' dress shoes have been causing my back pain for the last 3 months because the soles are completely worn down.
I finally took them to a cobbler downtown last week and he pointed out the uneven wear on the heels, so now I'm out $60 for a resole but my lower back already feels better, has anyone else ignored obvious shoe damage like this?

Wait, did you say your lower back already feels better after just one week? My experience has been that it usually takes a bit longer for the body to unlearn bad habits from bad shoes. The soles might be fixed but your muscles have been compensating for three months, so don't be surprised if it takes another week or two for everything to really settle down. I'd say give it a little more time before you declare it a total victory, but it's definitely a good sign that you're already feeling some relief.

Used to think shoes didn't matter that much but you just completely changed my mind.
