Just realized my landlord's 'quiet hours' note was aimed at me the whole time
Caught him on the stairs after my 2am shower routine and he straight up said the hallway complaint was about the squeaky faucet, not the music, so now I'm paying $40 for a plumber because I never thought to check the washer.

Man, that is such a classic landlord move. I read somewhere that most plumbing issues in rentals are actually tiny things like old washers or loose parts, but tenants never know because nobody ever shows you how the place works. My buddy had a similar thing happen with a dripping sink, and it turned out the landlord just wanted him to replace a $3 rubber seal. Now you're out forty bucks for something you could've fixed with a YouTube video and a trip to the hardware store. At least now you know the shower's actually fine, but I'd be salty about that plumber bill for weeks.
