My landlord in Cleveland kept $800 of my deposit for a stain I know I didn't make
I moved out of a two bedroom in Cleveland in March after living there for 4 years, and the walkthrough guy pointed at a stain on the carpet and said it was there when I moved in. The move out paper said normal wear and tear, then two weeks later I got a letter saying they were keeping $800 for carpet replacement. I called the office and the woman on the phone just kept repeating that the inspection report was final. I took photos the day I left and the stain isn't in any of them. Now I'm out $800 and I don't know if fighting it is worth the time or if I should just eat it. Has anyone actually won one of these deposit fights without a lawyer?
