My landlord in Cleveland raised rent $250 with 4 days notice, so I read my lease for the first time in 3 years
Last Tuesday I got a text saying rent would go up $250 starting the next month, and we had 4 days to decide if we were staying. I pulled out the lease I signed 3 years ago in Cleveland and read the whole thing for the first time. Turns out there is a line on page 6 that says rent changes need 30 days written notice, and a text message does not count. I replied with a photo of that page and the increase got dropped. Has anyone else actually caught their landlord on something in the paperwork like this?
