Pro tip: my landlord's handyman showed me the 15 minute move that saved my security deposit
My landlord's handyman came by to fix a leak and saw me scrubbing the tub with a magic eraser, and he just laughed and said I was making it harder on myself. He told me to fill the tub with hot water and a cup of dish soap, let it sit for 15 minutes, then wipe once. The soap breaks down the body oil film so nothing sticks and you don't scrub at all. I did this before my move out in June and got my full $1,200 deposit back, which never happens for me. I also started doing it every two weeks so it never gets bad in the first place. Has anyone tried this on glass shower doors? Mine still have hard water spots and I'm scared the soap will make it worse.
The tub trick works but glass doors are a whole different beast, dish soap won't touch those hard water spots. You'd basically be giving your shower door a nice warm bath while the calcium laughs at you. Try vinegar and a dryer sheet or just accept that your deposit is the price of clear glass.
