That $40 meal prep container set I bought off TikTok

I saw this ad for these fancy glass meal prep containers with the snap lids. Bought a 10 piece set for $40, hyped myself up for a week of healthy eating. First one broke in the microwave on day two, just a tiny crack but it leaked everywhere. Then the lids started popping off in my bag, got quinoa all over my work tote. Wasted like 3 hours of meal prep and $40 down the drain. Anyone else get tricked by those TikTok kitchen gadgets?

Bought the same ones. The lids gave up on week three - just enough time to make it feel like I was the one doing something wrong.

Ugh same thing happened to me. I switched to putting a piece of tape over the lid before I close it and that made all the difference. It holds the seal tight for weeks now without cracking. I also started hand washing them instead of tossing them in the dishwasher, which helped a lot. It's annoying but worth it if you want them to last longer. The plastic just gets brittle from the heat otherwise.

Wait, you tape the lid shut? Isn't that basically admitting the thing is busted right out of the box? I just don't get why we gotta work around it like that.
