Tried making a budget for my dog's vet bills and it actually worked

I put $50 a month into a separate account after my beagle needed an emergency visit last year. This month, he needed a $300 dental cleaning and I had the cash ready. It felt like a real win instead of a panic. Anyone else set up a small fund for pet stuff that saved them?

Wait, only $50 a month covered a $300 bill that fast?

Yeah, I used to be right there with you, @kim.xena. I always thought you needed to throw big money at debt to make a dent. Then I saw a friend pay off a two thousand dollar credit card by just sticking with a small automatic payment every week. It was the consistency that did it, not the amount. Watching that changed my whole view on how to handle bills.

Exactly, it's the small habits that build up. A little set aside each month stops a surprise bill from becoming a crisis. That peace of mind is worth more than the money.
