Update: I thought meal kits were a total scam for lazy people.

My partner signed us up for a HelloFresh box after I worked three 12-hour shifts in a row and we had zero groceries. It actually saved us $75 on takeout that week and I learned a decent stir fry sauce. Has anyone else been forced into a convenience they ended up liking?

Honestly, I was right there with you on the meal kit hate. Felt like paying extra for someone to measure your spices. Then my sister had a baby and sent me a free Blue Apron box so she'd get credit. The chicken dish was shockingly good, and I've made the pan sauce from that recipe like five times since. Sometimes convenience teaches you a trick.

Yeah, that pan sauce trick is the real prize, worth the whole box.

Yeah, my pride took a hit too. I was so sure I was above it all. Now I’m over here saving the recipe cards like they’re sacred texts. That pan sauce thing was a game changer, honestly. Guess I’m a convert with a side of humble pie.
