Comparing two agency referral networks back to back was eye opening

Last month I signed up for two different agency partnership platforms to see which one brought real leads. One sent me 12 generic leads in a week but none of them had actually read my profile. The other platform sent me 3 leads but each one started with a specific question about my past work. I'm paying double for the second one now because the quality gap was that obvious. Has anyone else found that bigger lead volumes just mean more wasted time?

I see it a little different honestly... bigger numbers have worked out for me in the long run. Those 12 generic leads you got, I probably would have gotten a couple good conversations out of them just by following up. Most people don't bother sending a second message or calling. I've landed some of my best clients from leads that looked cold at first. It's about how you work the list, not just what comes in. Sure the quality platform sounds nice but I'd rather have 12 shots on goal than 3.

My neighbor runs a small landscaping crew and he says the same thing. He'd rather knock on 50 doors and get 5 nos than wait for the perfect 5 leads that might call back. It's like dating apps too, you swipe on a bunch of people and maybe one or two turn into something real.
