Found a quick way to vet potential agency partners without endless calls
I was spending hours on discovery calls with agencies that looked great on paper but had zero cultural fit. Started asking them for a 5 minute loom video answering 3 specific questions about how they handle scope creep. Out of 12 replies, only 4 actually did it and 2 of those were amazing partners. Has anyone else tried a low-effort screener like this?

We did the same thing but with a one question test. Asked them to explain how they'd handle a vague project brief in 2 minutes. The ones that could simplify their answer without jargon were the keepers.

kimreed that point about no jargon is interesting but here's what I keep wondering. How do you know if they simplified it because they genuinely get it or because they just stripped out the hard parts to sound smooth? I've seen agencies that can make anything sound simple and then you get into the weeds and nothing matches what they promised. Did you ever follow up with those keepers to see if the no jargon thing actually held up in the real work or was it just a good first impression?
