Send a short bullet point email with the key points and offer to hop on a call if they want more detail.

Oscar666's bullet point email is a solid start, but have you tried a shared one page slide that you both can edit? It turns updates into a real conversation instead of just sending stuff out. That way you're building the report together instead of drowning them in your own paperwork.
