Lost $450 on a vanity URL contract I didn't read closely enough
Signed a 12 month deal with a small agency for a branded short URL they promised would drive traffic. Paid $450 upfront without checking if it auto renewed or had any exit clause. Three months in, the link barely got any clicks and I wanted out but they pointed to the contract language. Just a heads up, always ask about cancellation terms before you put money down on something like that. Anyone else get burned by a partnership agreement that looked good on paper?

Did your friend @jessicaflores hear about the time my buddy signed up for a "lifetime" email list service that shut down four months later? Ngl, contracts are just fancy traps half the time.

Always ask about cancellation terms" is the kind of advice I wish I had before I signed a "simple" barter deal with a local radio station. "Looked good on paper" is right, I traded a bunch of my handmade candles for "prime airtime" and ended up stuck with 200 unsold candles and a contract that said I owed them for the ads even if they never aired. My mistake was thinking a handshake and a smile meant anything. Hope that link at least looked pretty in your browser history.
