Rant: My agency partner's 'streamlined reporting' was a total mess

I onboarded with this bigger agency back in March... they promised their shared dashboard would save us hours. After 4 months of chasing down numbers, I finally saw the proof last week. Their old process meant we manually emailed CSV files back and forth, new one meant I could pull live data in 10 minutes flat. The difference was a full 5 hours per month... anyone else deal with partners who talk a big game about tools but deliver chaos?

Maybe the chaos was actually the point so they could bill you for extra hours fixing it.

You ever had a contractor do that to you? Like they show up, spend half the day scratching their head and making phone calls, then hand you a bill that's double what they quoted? I'm just wondering if there's any way to tell ahead of time that's what you're dealing with. Because I've been burned before and I still can't spot the signs until it's too late.
