Small partnership win after a client referral I almost ignored

I was pretty skeptical when a client in Austin suggested I partner with this small social media agency to handle their content. We've been working together for 3 months now and our shared client's engagement went up 40%. Who else has had a referral turn out way better than expected?

Actually you know what, I used to think that kind of partnership was just a way to look busy. I figured the social media folks would just post the same stuff we already had and call it a win. But watching it play out, I was wrong. Most of the growth came from people who weren't following either of us before, which surprised me. It turned out their different way of framing the client's story brought in a whole new crowd we couldn't reach on our own. So yeah, I admit I had the wrong idea about that from the start.

Was the 40% engagement mostly from the shared client's existing audience or did you see new people coming in from the social media agency's side? I'm curious if the real value came from reaching people neither of you could get to alone.
