I had to pick between frozen fries and fresh potatoes for my air fryer
I had a bag of frozen crinkle cuts and some russet potatoes from the market. I went with the fresh ones, cut them into wedges, soaked them in cold water for 30 minutes, then dried them really well. I tossed them with a tablespoon of oil and cooked them at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, shaking halfway. They came out crispier than any frozen kind I've tried. Has anyone else found a trick for getting frozen fries to turn out better in the air fryer?

Honestly, I just spray frozen fries with a little cooking spray before they go in.

Ngl masonbell, you just called out my whole cooking routine. My oven probably thinks I'm running a fry spa with all the oil I spray on them. Tbh the last batch I made could have doubled as hockey pucks before I tried your trick. It's a game changer for sure, even if my smoke alarm disagrees sometimes.
