My air fryer saved me during a crazy power outage last week
We had a big storm roll through on Tuesday and the power was out for almost 8 hours. My stove is electric, so I was stuck with a fridge full of food and no way to cook. I remembered my air fryer uses way less power than the oven, so I plugged it into my little portable battery pack. I managed to cook a whole pack of chicken thighs, some frozen fries, and even roasted a tray of broccoli. The whole apartment smelled amazing and my family actually thought it was fun. It was a weird, good dinner by candlelight. I never thought of it as an emergency cooking tool before. Has anyone else used their air fryer when the power was weird?

Wait, your battery pack ran an air fryer?

That "weird, good dinner by candlelight" sounds so nice, actually. We had rolling brownouts last summer and my air fryer was a total lifesaver too. I cooked a whole bag of those frozen meatballs and made hot sandwiches. It felt like a weird little adventure instead of a disaster. Smart thinking with the battery pack.

Did you use an inverter generator for the air fryer or just a big battery pack? My buddy @norathomas tried running a toaster oven off his portable power station during that big freeze a couple years back and the thing shut down after like 5 minutes. He ended up just heating soup on a camping stove instead. Took forever but hey, hot food is hot food.
