Overheard my neighbor say she preheats her air fryer for 10 minutes every time

I never preheat mine, I just toss stuff in and hit start. She said her fries come out way crispier because of it. Anyone else do the preheat thing or am I missing something?

I used to think the same but honestly after trying it with fries I get the hype. Those ten minutes actually make a difference or is it just me?

Doesn't the manual say preheating is for frozen stuff though I could be wrong.
