Ranch seasoning packets made my wings way too salty

I was making buffalo wings in my air fryer last Tuesday night and thought I'd get fancy with a dry rub. I used a ranch seasoning packet mixed with some oil and tossed the wings before cooking them at 380 for 25 minutes. Big mistake. The wings came out looking great but they were so salty I could barely eat more than two. I think the seasoning packet already has a ton of salt in it and I didn't account for that. I tried scraping some off and dipping them in plain blue cheese to balance it out but it was still too much. Has anyone else had this problem with pre-made seasoning mixes in their air fryer? What do you use for wings instead?

Had good luck mixing a ranch packet with some garlic powder and a tiny bit of brown sugar to offset the salt. Threw them in a ziploc with that mix and let them sit for 30 minutes before hitting the air fryer. Took the edge right off and gave them a nice sweet and savory flavor without being a salt bomb.

Hold on, I gotta push back on this. I make wings in my air fryer all the time with ranch seasoning and they come out perfect every time. You probably just used too much of the packet or didn't balance it with other stuff. I mix one packet with a tablespoon of oil and a squeeze of lemon juice and it cuts the salt fine for me. Plus, the whole point of a dry rub is for that salty, crispy crust. Seems like you're blaming the seasoning when it might be your ratio. Are you saying the company is wrong for putting salt in a seasoning mix?
