Realized I was preheating my air fryer wrong for 6 months

I always just hit the preheat button and threw my food in when it beeped. Then I watched a video from the ProHomeCooks guy and he said you need to wait 3-4 extra minutes after the beep for the basket to actually get hot. Tried it with frozen chicken tenders from Costco and they came out way crispier. Anyone else have a basic thing they missed for way too long?

Oh yeah, I let my basket heat an extra 5 mins now. Game changer.

Man that's exactly what happened to me too... I was just trusting the beep for months thinking that meant it was ready. Then I tried the extra wait time with some frozen fish sticks and the difference was wild. They actually had that crunch on the outside instead of being kinda soggy. Now I set a timer on my phone for 4 minutes after the air fryer beeps so I don't forget. Makes sense too when you think about it, the basket itself needs time to heat up even if the air inside is already hot. Never going back to the old way now.
