Realized my air fryer was lying to me after 3 months

I kept wondering why my chicken thighs were coming out dry even though I followed the times. Then I got a cheap oven thermometer and found out my air fryer runs 45 degrees hotter than what the display says. Anyone else check the actual temp in their unit?

Haha oh man, that's rough. Tbh I feel like my air fryer has been gaslighting me this whole time too, I just never had the guts to check it. Ngl I probably would have kept blaming my own cooking if I found out it was the appliance's fault.

My air fryer burns everything on one side and leaves the other raw.
