Serious question, has anyone else had a whole meal plan fall apart because of a power outage?
My whole week got thrown off because a storm knocked out our power for almost a full day. I had just prepped a bunch of chicken and veggies to air fry for dinners. With no oven or stove, I was stuck. I ended up taking the basket outside and using my truck's inverter to run the air fryer for 15 minutes. It was silly, sitting in the driveway, but it cooked the chicken perfectly. That little machine saved dinner. It made me realize how much I rely on it for quick, reliable meals. What do you guys do when your main cooking plans get messed up? Any good backup ideas for when things go wrong?

Whole week got thrown off" seems a bit much for one day without power. It's just dinner, not a major life event. Running an air fryer from your truck is clever, but it's not a crisis. Most people just eat some sandwiches or order a pizza when the power's out.

Actually, losing power for a full day can really mess up a whole week's food plan (especially if you shopped and prepped ahead). All that fresh stuff starts to go bad fast. Sandwiches are fine once, but it's not just about one meal, it's about the time and money you already put in. So yeah, finding a way to cook that chicken instead of losing it makes total sense.

A full day without power can definitely wreck a weekly meal plan if you've already done the prep. That chicken would have gone bad sitting in a warm fridge. My backup is a little camp stove for the porch, but your truck inverter idea is actually pretty smart for a fast fix.
