Warning: my air fryer almost caught fire during a family cookout last weekend
I was at my sister's place in Phoenix for a BBQ last Saturday when I turned on my air fryer to make some fries. About 5 minutes in, I opened it to check and saw smoke pouring out from the bottom where grease had dripped down and pooled around the heating coil. I grabbed the cord and pulled it out fast, but it was scary how close it was to really catching. My sister said she never cleans hers either, and I bet a lot of people don't think about that grease buildup. Do you guys actually clean under the basket every time, or is that just me being paranoid now?

Blew a fuse at my place last month when I had the air fryer and microwave running at the same time, my wife still gives me grief about how loud the pop was. Makes you wonder what other kitchen gadgets are just waiting to betray us.

Man that's wild, glad you caught it in time. I'm definitely guilty of letting the grease pile up, so thanks for the wake up call.
