Digital torque wrenches got me second guessing my old feel

I picked up one of those digital clicker types last month for a job in Bakersfield and spent the whole afternoon double checking it against my old beam style. Thing reads to the foot pound every time, but I still catch myself listening for the click like my ears know better. My apprentice asked why I even bother with the analog one and I couldn't give him a straight answer. Maybe it's just habit, but has anyone else had trouble trusting the screen over the sound and feel you grew up with?

Digital stuff is great until the batteries die and you're back to guessing anyway. My old beam never needed a firmware update to tell me I was overtorquing. Trust your ears, they've got more experience than any screen.
