Hot take: those 'aviation grade' wire strippers from Harbor Freight are actually decent

I bought a pair for $12 back in March expecting them to fall apart in a week. After 4 months of daily use stripping 22-18 gauge wire on 737 avionics trays, they still cut clean and haven't rusted. Anyone else had surprisingly good luck with cheap tools in a pinch?

Weird question but did you notice any difference between the first batch you got and the ones they're selling now? I heard HF sometimes switches manufacturers mid-run and the quality goes all over the place. Your pair sounds solid but I'm wondering if someone buying today would get the same results or if they cut corners later.

Honestly, I see the manufacturer switch thing different. If anything I think the newer ones hold their adjustment better than the first batch did.
