Good catch on that rivet gun. "Works perfectly" after 30 years sitting in a pawn shop. That's because they don't make stuff like that anymore. Old tools were built to last, not to break after a year so you have to buy another one. You got a deal. Most people would pay triple that for a new one that won't hold up half as long. Pawn shops can be gold mines for this kind of thing if you know what to look for.

Isn't it wild how a tool that old can still outwork anything you'd find on a shelf today? I've got a similar story with a drill press from the 70s, thing still runs like it's brand new while my buddy's modern one crapped out after two years. @elliotadams you're spot on about pawn shops being gold mines, you just have to be patient and know a little about what you're looking at.
