Question about the time a duck tried to nest in a 737 wheel well

I was doing a pre-flight walkaround at a small regional airport in Maine last spring and found a mallard duck sitting on a pile of grass and twigs inside the main landing gear bay. We had to call animal control to safely remove her, and now I always double-check for wildlife before signing off on any inspection. What's the weirdest thing you've found during a routine check?

That "double-check for wildlife" thing is so real... it's like animals have a sixth sense for finding the worst possible spots to settle down. I swear they're always trying to move into places that are clearly not for them.

Yeah, that "sixth sense for the worst spots" is spot on. I read an article about how some animals actually seek out human stuff for warmth or shelter, even when it's dangerous. They mentioned raccoons in dryer vents and snakes under car hoods because of the leftover heat.

It's not just warmth either. Birds will build nests in active machinery because it's sheltered, and squirrels chew through attic wires for nesting material. Their survival instincts don't account for modern hazards at all.
