Showerthought: the torque wrench in that Amarillo hangar taught me more than 4 years of school
Back in 2016 I was a green A&P working my first annual on a Cessna 172 at a small field outside Amarillo, and an old timer named Dale stopped me mid-pull on a cylinder bolt and said 'you're letting the click do the thinking.' He made me feel the bolt stretch by hand on a scrap jug for an hour before he'd let me touch the real thing again, and that afternoon I finally got why the book spec is a starting point and not gospel. How did you all learn feel versus spec, was it a person or did it just come with reps?
