Spent $300 on a fancy torque wrench that turned into a joke
I bought this digital torque wrench for a specific job on a Cessna 172's landing gear, thinking it would make things foolproof. The battery died right in the middle of the final bolt, and the manual said it needed a special charger I didn't have. What's your go-to backup when a new tool lets you down on the line?

That "special charger" thing is the worst. My buddy's digital caliper did the same, so he just keeps a cheap manual one in his box now.

But digital ones are way faster for quick checks. That special battery lasts years if you just buy a spare.

Used to think digital was always better until my own caliper died mid job with no store open for that weird battery. Totally get what @ellis.hayden is saying about his buddy's move to a manual one. That moment changed my mind hard. Now I see a simple tool that just works is often smarter than the fancy one that needs a special charger.
