Swapped my old feeler gauge routine for a digital setup after too many bad gaps
Used to set valve clearances by feel at the hangar in Tucson for 6 years, now I carry a $40 digital caliper and check everything twice. Anyone else find the old way was fine until one engine run showed a 0.003 inch miss?

Only 0.003 off and the whole engine run goes sideways? That's wild how such a tiny gap causes that much trouble. Six years of doing it by feel and it took one bad run to change your whole setup, kinda scary when you think about it.
