That $500 borescope I barely touch anymore

Back in 2019 I worked a line job in Phoenix and convinced myself I needed a top-of-the-line flexible borescope for inspections. Dropped $500 on it, then used it maybe four times in two years before it sat in my toolbox gathering dust. Turns out the cheap $80 one my coworker had did the same job for most of what we actually check on Cessnas and Pipers. Now I just borrow his when I really need one, and I wish I'd started there. Anyone else drop serious cash on a specialty tool they ended up regretting?

Hell, I used to swear by having the best version of everything in the truck. But you're right, most of the time the cheap one gets the job done and the expensive one just sits there looking pretty.
