Honestly @luna891 did the horses settle down quick after, or were they still twitchy the next day? That must've been a loud pop.

You ever try giving them some grain or hay right after? Honestly, it kinda distracts them and settles their nerves faster. I've had to deal with spooked animals after a loud bang before, and keeping their routine going helps a lot. Just don't rush up to them or make sudden moves, let them come to you when they're ready.
