A customer in Phoenix totally flipped my view on glass break sensors

I was doing a final walkthrough with a homeowner yesterday, and he asked why I didn't put a glass break sensor in his sunroom. I told him the motion detector covered it fine. He said, 'But what if someone just cuts the screen and reaches in to unlock the door without breaking the glass?' I'd been installing for 8 years and NEVER considered that specific bypass. It made so much sense. Anyone else run into this scenario and add extra sensors because of it?

Honestly, how often does that actually happen though?

My local coffee shop has a "lost and found" box that's always full of keys and wallets. I mean, people misplace stuff way more than you'd think. It's just one of those small, constant mess-ups that adds up.

Totally get that, it's a solid point. Had a guy show me how easy it was to pop a window screen with a pocket knife and just slide the latch. Honestly made me rethink every ground floor window I've ever wired. Now I always push for the extra sensor on sliding doors and big windows, just feels cheap not to.
